You’ve done the initial couples session, then an individual session with each partner and now you’re ready to do the 4th session. How do you structure it? Do you reference the individual sessions? Do you let the clients lead you into the fight of the week? Do you do more assessment? Do you try to fill out the infinity loop?
After years of trying out different ways to structure the 4th session, Sarah has found a protocol that feels genuine to her and provides important level setting with the couple. She would argue that this is the prime session to set the focus with the couple of the coming work. This is the jumping off point that needs to be structured, specific, and collaborative. In this workshop, Sarah will share how the 4th session allows for further attachment assessment and how to test therapist attunement while building alliance.
Don’t throw away this session! Sarah will share her structure and how to lay down the foundational bricks and wants to invite a conversation to hear how others give focus to the 4th session.
Please note that this presentation will be recorded. If you cannot attend live, you may choose to receive the recording.
