Description: Infant loss and stillbirth represent some of the most devastating and life-altering experiences a couple can face. The grief, trauma, and relational distress that follow can profoundly impact the couple’s emotional connection and ability to support one another. This presentation explores how therapists and support professionals can compassionately walk alongside couples during this journey, utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as a guiding framework. Through a combination of theoretical exploration, experiential activities, and group discussion, participants will deepen their understanding and skills to support couples grappling with the forever unknown child.

By the end of our time together, participants will have an enhanced understanding of the complex emotional landscape couples must navigate after infant loss or stillbirth. Through the lens of Emotionally Focused Therapy and experiential learning, attendees will be better equipped to offer compassionate, effective support to couples as they journey through grief, trauma, and healing—together.
